Sauganash to D.C. 2027 | Quick Check-in for 7th Grade Families

This is the public copy of the initial family invitation. The original email gave each recipient private choices to join or decline the list. Those personal links are not included here.

Hello,

You are receiving this email because you have a 7th grader at
Sauganash School.

We are a committee of parents organizing the 8th grade class trip to
Washington, D.C. in Fall 2027. The trip is a long-standing Sauganash
tradition, and we would love to keep it going. This is not a
school-sponsored trip, so it depends on parent and family involvement.

We are in the early planning stage, and we would like to know:
- Are you interested in sending your child on the trip?
- Would you want to come along as a chaperone?
- Could you and your child help at fundraising events when schedules
allow?

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR

Trip company: We are still comparing options. We may use WorldStrides
or Grand Classroom, as in the past, or choose another company.

Typical dates: The trip has traditionally left on the Friday before
the Columbus Day holiday weekend in October and returned Sunday night.
Exact Fall 2027 dates are not final. We will do our best to schedule
the trip after the high school entrance exam. We expect CPS to release
that testing date in spring 2027.

Travel: Students have typically taken a bus from Sauganash School to
the airport, then another bus back to school after the return flight.

Itinerary: The chosen trip company will help the committee build a
full schedule of tours, meals, and activities. If your family has a
connection that could help arrange a visit to a consulate or government
building, please tell the committee as soon as possible so the trip
company can explore including it in the itinerary.

Lodging: Groups have typically stayed in a hotel with overnight
security arranged through the trip company. Students are usually four
to a room and chaperones two to a room. More private arrangements may
be available for an additional cost.

Cost: One fee generally covers the full package, including airfare. We
currently expect about $1,600-$2,000 per student and a little more for
chaperones, who typically have two people to a room.

Payment plans: Most trip companies offer them. We will share details
after choosing a company.

Fundraising reimbursements: Our current expectation is that trip fees
will be paid up front and each family's fundraising share will be
reimbursed after the trip. We will confirm this process before booking.

This school year is dedicated to fundraising. Sauganash School supports
the trip. We plan to work with the PTO to reduce participating families'
costs as much as possible.

We need more parents and guardians involved in the committee. If you
are interested in taking a greater role in planning the trip, please
email [email protected].

EMAIL CHOICES - CHOOSE ONE

The survey link above is separate. You are not subscribed to trip
announcements yet. Choose one of the three options below for this
email address:

2. YES, KEEP ME UPDATED

Opens a page with a button to confirm. Future announcements will
include a link that stops them immediately.

3. ADD A DIFFERENT ADULT EMAIL
https://sauganashtodc.com/signup
Send updates to another adult instead. That address gets its own
confirmation, so it is never added just because someone typed it.

4. DO NOT SEND ME THESE MESSAGES

Opens a page with a button that removes this address straight away.
No account, no sign-in.

If you do nothing, you will not hear from us again.
