Sauganash to D.C. 2027 | Lou Malnati's This Wednesday + Lake House Raffle

The committee has been busy behind the scenes. We have some good news: Homecoming drink sales raised about $600 for the trip. Thank you to everyone who helped! Here's where things stand and what's coming up.

TRIP PLANNING

Cindy Hwang has been vetting several student travel companies, comparing total price, itinerary, meals, and airport (O'Hare or Midway). We're closing in on a choice and expect a final decision soon.

In other news, we now have a group leader for our trip. The brave Elisa Lugo has stepped up to this role.

Additionally, Keri Mendez has arranged our first restaurant fundraiser. This is a great way to help sponsor this trip while enjoying a delicious meal.

LOU MALNATI'S: THIS WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 30

From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Lou Malnati's in Lincolnwood (6649 N. Lincoln Ave.) will donate 20% of orders to Friends of Sauganash to support the trip. Dine-in, carryout, and delivery all count, but only at the Lincolnwood location.

LAKE HOUSE RAFFLE

We are also pleased to announce that we are hosting a Lake House Getaway Raffle. Win a two-night stay in Lauderdale Lakes, Wisconsin, with 6 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a hot tub, and a game room. Thank you to the kind owners for offering it again.

We'll draw the winner at the Sauganash Halloween event on Thursday, October 29. The stay is available November 2026 through March 2027, excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Dates must be arranged with the owners at least two weeks ahead. A $250 refundable damage deposit is required. Please share the raffle link with family and friends!

Halloween: We have committed to selling pizza and drinks at the Sauganash Halloween event on Thursday, October 29, starting at 5 p.m. We will organize a volunteer signup page soon and share that with you also.
